Inconsistent cast edges and part-to-part variation make automated deburring hard to get right, and manual rework adds cost on every high-volume run. The new BIAX EWZ 10 Deburring Tool Holder solves this right in your machining setup.
A spring-loaded 90-degree carbide burr follows the edge at nearly constant contact pressure, with 10mm of axial compensation that absorbs surface irregularities and positional inaccuracies to deliver uniform material removal. Because the holder compensates for the part, CNC programming stays simple. For example, run a bore path instead of an ellipse.

The EWZ 10’s 20 h6 shank works with common clamping, gripping and shrink-fit systems, including driven tool holders, and an ER11 collet seat accepts tools up to 7mm shank diameter. Matching TCM carbide burrs come in 6, 10, and 16mm diameters with four cuts:
- Z2 for high stock removal on non-ferrous metals and plastics
- Z3 for cast steel
- Z5 for a fine finish on steel, cast iron or titanium
- Z63 double cut for hardened steels, grey cast iron and chromium-nickel steels
The EWZ 10 efficiently smooths the edges that form between machined and unmachined surfaces on cast parts. When deburring automotive castings, aerospace housings, medical components, and precision-machined parts, this setup delivers repeatable edges without pulling parts off the line for hand finishing.
